Specialist report

A specialist report is a detailed medical assessment from a consultant in the relevant field, setting out the injury, its severity and its likely long-term course.

It goes further than an initial medical report by addressing prognosis, any permanent impairment, and future treatment or care that may be needed. Because general damages and any claim for future loss depend on this level of detail, an incomplete or rushed specialist report can genuinely undervalue a serious injury.

Specialist reports are usually obtained once your recovery has reached a stable point, so the assessment reflects your settled condition rather than an early guess.
