Gambar rajah (accident sketch)

A gambar rajah, usually translated as a sketch plan, is the diagram the police prepare showing the road layout, the vehicles’ positions and the points of impact after an accident.

It is one of the core documents that can be requested alongside the police report, and it often carries real weight in deciding fault because it is drawn from the scene rather than from memory later. It is explained in full in what a police sketch plan is.

If the sketch looks inaccurate, it is worth raising this early rather than after a claim is already well underway.

It is usually prepared by the investigating officer rather than handed to you immediately, so a formal request may be needed to obtain a copy for your claim file.
