Consent order

A consent order is any order a court makes to record something both parties have agreed, rather than something the court itself decided after argument.

In a road accident claim, a consent order most often appears at the point of settlement, turning the agreed figure and terms into a binding court record. It can also cover smaller procedural agreements along the way, such as an agreed timetable for exchanging documents, not only the final settlement.
