Compendium of Personal Injury Awards

The Compendium of Personal Injury Awards is a Bar Council reference guide that gives Malaysian courts a range of past awards for pain, suffering and loss of amenities, organised by type of injury.

The current version, the Revised Compendium, was issued by the Malaysian Bar in 2018 and is used alongside medical evidence when a judge assesses general damages.^[1] It offers ranges, not fixed prices, and a court can move outside a range where the facts justify it.

Because the Compendium groups injuries broadly, the detail in your own specialist medical report, not the guide itself, usually decides where within a range your case sits.
